JCMGA Membership Renewal for 2026

By Beet 2025 12 December

The 2026 membership renewal process is now open! We hope you will renew your membership between now and the end of January. As usual, the membership fee is only $25.

This year, we ask you to complete a renewal form. This informs us of the areas in our organization in which you are interested in participating.  You can find the renewal process form on our home page under “Membership Renewal.”

If you want a hard copy of the renewal form to list your areas of interest, we will mail one. Just indicate it as you process the membership form online.

This year you will have the ability to choose to list your home address or not. Please bear in mind that, if you do not want your home address in the Directory, you will have to pick up your copy at the Extension office at 569 Hanley Road, Central Point in the spring. This is because we can only use the bulk mailing process to send a copy to addresses in the directory.

In 2026 we are looking to help increase our membership by finding old members who might like to rejoin our organization. Once a Master Gardner, always a Master Gardner, and one can rejoin at any time. Do you know a prior Master Gardener who is inactive? If yes, please encourage them to become involved again.

There are so many benefits of being a JCMGA member; for example, the education offerings are outstanding. The annual picnic is great, and the spring and fall plant sales have been very successful. One of my most favorite benefits though, is the great people I meet who are also members. Don’t wait, renew your membership today!

JCMGA Membership 2025 Directory

By Beet 2025 07 July

Have you received your copy of the Membership Directory and checked your information?  We had a couple of members who did not receive their directory via bulk mailing so if you did not get yours, let me know and we will get you one. If your contact information needs to be corrected or updated, please let me know so I can get it right.

Remember; if you did not want your address listed, you need to pick up your copy at the Southern Oregon Research & Extension Center (SOREC) office on Hanley Road.

We have a few members who renewed after we went to print.  We will produce an update/correction sheet and email it via Mailchimp for your use.

You can contact me via text at 541-601-2134 or email me at jcmgamembership@gmail.com.

JCMGA Membership

By Beet 2025 06 June

The 2025 Jackson County Master Gardeners Association Directory should have arrived at your home address if you renewed your membership prior to April 4, 2025 and you elected to have your home address printed in the Directory.

We have had a few reports of the Directory not arriving via the bulk mailing process.  If that is the case for you, please contact Ann Ackles, Membership Secretary via email, text or phone (contact information listed below).

If you elected not to have your home address printed, your Directory is waiting for you to pick up at the Extension office.

Please review your information in the Directory to ensure there is not an error in what we published.  If there is an error, please notify Ann Ackles, Membership Secretary.

There were five members who renewed after we went to print.  We are mailing their Directories via USPS.  We will publish corrections and additional renewal members and send out the updates by July 4th.

Thank you for your support this past year!

Ann Ackles (2023), Membership Secretary

JCMGA 2025 Membership Chapter Directory Update

By Beet 2025 05 May

The latest edition of the JCMGA Membership Directory will soon be arriving in your mailbox! Those of you who chose not to have your home address included will be able to pick up your copy at the Extension office the next time you visit our gardens.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for completing the questionnaire that was included as part of the renewal process this year. It helps the Membership Secretary have current information, allows the leaders for our many projects and committees to know what projects you want to help with this year, and enables them to reach out to you.

Should you move this year, or if you have corrections/edits to be made, please send the information to the Membership Secretary and he or she will update the master spreadsheet and the Web page. The membership email address is jcmgmembership@gmail.com. Or, you can mail your updates to JCMGA (Attn: Membership Secretary) at 569 Hanley Rd, Central Point OR 97502.

It takes a team to produce the Directory and this year the following people were so helpful in getting this to press: Ann Ackles, Regina Boykins, Teresa Jarratt, Barbara Low, and Keltie Nelson.

JCMGA Membership Directory Update

By Beet 2025 04 April

The 2025 Jackson County Master Gardeners Association Directory has been submitted for publication. The directories will be mailed through a bulk mailing process to all renewing members who wanted their home address listed in the Directory.  When your Directory arrives via USPS, be sure to use scissors or a mail opener to ensure the cover page does not tear.

Once we have the Directories in the mail, those of you who chose to not have your home address listed may pick up your copy at the Southern Oregon Research and Extension Center (569 Hanley Road, Central Point.) The exact timeline is still to be defined but should be within one month. You will be notified via email when it is time to pick up your copy and given details of where you will find them.

Should there be a correction needed, please contact the Membership Secretary at jcmgmembership@gmail.com. We will publish a Mail Chimp with any changes in a few months.

Congratulations to Linda Jo Millus, winner of this year’s photo contest! Her photo, featuring a colorful burst of Echinacea, will be on the front cover of the 2025 JCMGA Membership Directory.

We would like to thank everyone for filling out the renewal form this year! Your identified areas of interest are being shared with the leaders for our many projects. It is very impressive to see how you want to support our organization.

JCMGA Membership Renewal for 2025

By Beet 2025 01 January

It’s that time of year when we open our Membership Renewal process.  We are asking each renewing member to complete the 2025 Membership form.  This can be done online or via paper form.

This form serves two vital purposes.  First, it assures the Membership Secretary has your most current information regarding your address, phone number, email and year you completed your education.  The second purpose is for you to identify where you want to share your knowledge, skills and abilities in 2025.  There are so many opportunities for you to assist the organization with projects and/or committees.  A project leader will know to contact you when your area of interest is meeting or working on a project.

We have added a box that allows you to limit how much of your contact information is listed in the directory, but we do need some contact information – preferably emails. If you choose not to have your street address listed you will have to pick up your directory at the Extension office because it will not be mailed out.

The yearly renewal fee is still $25.00 and a real bargain.  We ask that all renewal forms be returned by January 31st to be included in the directory which will come out in the Spring of 2025.  Thank you for supporting the process and we look forward to seeing you renew your membership.

You can renew your membership at https://jacksoncountymga.org/membership-renewal/

“Friends of the Gardens” Logo Development Contest

By Beet 2024 02 February

The Jackson County Master Gardeners Association would like you to enter the Friends of the Gardens Logo Development Contest.  You could win a $25 gift certificate to use at the JCMGA’s native plant nursery.    We will feature the winner in the March Garden Beet.

As we look to expand our volunteers through the “Friends of the Gardens” program we would like a unique logo for the program. If you have artistic skills, please enter our contest!  The logo would be use on letterheads, JCMGA website, posters, and flyers to catch a gardener’s eye and will be used to brand and promote this program.

So, pull out your drawing implements, paints, or computer skills and send in your ideas!  Please submit an electronic copy of your design.   We plan on using the design when advertising the Friends of the Gardens program.  The design would become the property of JCMGA.  We would like the finished design to be in either jpg or Word format and submitted by 5 pm on Thursday, February 15th, 2024.

Designs are to be submitted to the JCMGA President, Barbara Low barbaralow@msn.com
